OUAS - August

Hi everyone!  Today I have my August DT layout to share for Once Upon a Sketch.  Once again the sketch is beautiful!  Still a little more time to get your entry in to be in the running to win some awesome prizes.  Visit Once Upon A Sketch to see all of the other dt examples.

This months criteria is:

Journalling Theme: "The men in our lives..."

You are free to interpret our theme ANY WAY you like. It is for your inspiration and this theme word DOES NOT need to be part of your title or journalling. But please make sure your layout is based on the sketch below and includes journalling (hidden journalling is fine). Acceptable journalling is MORE than just a sentence, or generic writing such as date/place etc. It needs to be present and at least 3 lines long. Remember, hidden journalling (under a photo/tag or behind your page) is perfectly fine but please DO let us know in your post where your journalling is!

Here is my take on the sketch :)

"Together"

I have used Ocean Melody collection papers by Webster's Pages.  Here I have used a 2 Crafty Chipboard anchor.  Applied Gesso, added cotten and placed in with my layers.

I managed to add my journaling to the top and bottom of the page, where I had free space...hehe :)

Some layers of Prima flowers and shells also.

The 'together' word circle is another 2 Crafty piece.   I have used the pie chart stencil here also.  I love the effect it gives mixing it with Shimmerz.  I snuck in a MME badge too which went perfect with it's triangles.

I love the vellum from this collection.  It's colours are gorgeous!

More vellum to the right and a beautiful day journal spot.

Last shot of all the texture.

Until next time, thanks for visiting.

Shimmerz canvas

I have a Penguin canvas to share with you today........yes, you heard correct a Penguin, not an Owl!!!!  I think she is rather cute too :)  I have used a super long list today of Shimmerz goodies!  I didn't realise at the time how many I actually used but I just kept grabbing different ones as I built up those layers.

Shimmerz products used:

Coloringz in Pink Stiletto and Mandarin Mai Tai
Spritz in Carribean Sunset
Vibez in Grape Escape
Dimensionz in Pearly Gates and Witchy Poo
Enamelz in Sparklicious
Texturez in Gritty Graphite
Dazzlerz in Pucker Up Pink, Spun Sugar and Grapetastic
Inklingz in Sunkissed and Pugnacious Purple

My background started with some Modelling past on a stencil.  I had pencilled the outline of the penguin before I proceeded to paint away.
I have added a couple of fabric hearts to add more texture.  I added a little Dazzlerz to the outline to help blend in.

I used the Dazzlerz in Grapetastic underneath the floral embellishments.  By using the darker purple it adds more depth to the canvas.

Using a palette knife I applied Dazzlerz in Spun Sugar for the body of the penquin.  I applied it quite thick so some of the texture could still be seen.  I added another fabric heart and applied Dimensionz in Pearly Gates around the outline of it.

Another heart and lots of texture here.

For my title, I gave it a coat of Gesso and then Sprinkled some Enamelz in Sparklicious then I added a small amount of Inklingz in Sunkissed to add the slightest of colour.

I sprinkled Sparklicious onto the flowers (once a bit of Gesso was added to the tips) to add some shine.

I added some twine and calico to the outline of the penguin to add more texture.

Lots of gorgeous Prima flowers too!

  1. Thanks for dropping by!

Tons Of Fun

Back again today with my last share for the month for 2 Crafty Chipboard.  I have teamed lots of lovely chipboard with some Webster's Pages Ocean Melody.

I have used the blue tones, lots of flowers and a few shells to tie into the beachy theme.

I have used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces on my layout:
Frame Louisa's
Pirate Set (Compass Rose)
Pirate Treasure (Anchor)
Word Circles set 2
Elegant Flourish
"Tons Of Fun"

I added the Elegant Flourish into the flower cluster to give it more of a vine look.
When I covered my photo, I randomly sprayed around the embellishments with Shimmerz sprays.

I have covered the anchor from the Pirate Treasure pack with royal blue chunky glitter.
I have also applied some of the same glitter to other areas of the layout to have it all fit together.

I applied Gesso to the Compass Rose out of the Pirate Set,  I added a small amount
of Shimmerz product Tickle Me Turquoise and added the crystal to the centre.

I added some more Gesso to the Tons of Fun title.  Simple, but it ties in with the white wash
effect of the layout.  I then layered it over my other embellishments and layers.

I cut the Frame Louisa's in half.  Placing 1 side on the bottom of the floral arrangement.
The blue Shimmerz tones were added to it to blend into the background.
The other half of the Frame Louisa's was placed up the top under the vellum.

Just some more close ups of the texture and layers:

I received a gorgeous box of Pretty Little Studio goodies yesterday.  So excited to play with all of that cuteness :)

Thanks for visiting today!

I Just Love This Kid

Happy Monday all!  I am back today with another 2 Crafty share.  This time of my cheeky 3 year old.  I have opted for a pastel palette in this one!!  Absolutely adore the Webster's Pages paper I have used here for the background.

I used the following 2 Crafty chipboard pieces to add to this cute layout:
Arrows Funky
I Just (heart) This Kid
Indian Feathers
Frames Tiny Funky

"I Just Love This Kid"

The title piece I just Love this Kid was perfect for this page.  I covered it  in Gesso
and then applied some Shimmerz Inklingz in I'm Not Limon and Gosh Garnet.
These 2 colours are gold based so the gold tones through the watercolour matched
the gold trims on the layout.

I have used 2 arrows out of the Arrows Funky pack.  I love to use flowers on my
boy pages but I think these arrows give it a boyish feel.  I have layered one in
with the bows and the other is to right of the page.  I have applied Gesso to both.

The funky arrow on the right, I have also blended into the background with the Shimmerz sprays.

I have tucked an Indian Feather under the floral cluster and added some
Shimmerz Inklingz in Sunkissed (the pretty peach colour).

Once again I have layered the Frame Tiny Funky into the photo mat.  I really like
the effect of the water colours on the chipboard pieces, here I have used the Gosh Garnet
Inklingz, it just adds a little shimmer and colour.

I have applied some flowers, Say it in Crystals, buttons and Heidi Swapp transparent diecuts to the layout also.

Thanks for visiting and your kind comments :)
Have a wonderful day xoxo

My 1st layout for 2 Crafty this month

Hi lovely followers!

Just popping in quickly today with my first share this month for 2 Crafty Chipboard.
I have scrapped a photo of my biggest boy, Cooper and I.  I am little emotional as I write this post today, just a little bit going on (puppy included) and I'm a bit up and down but this boy makes me so proud!  I am having a tough time with the two smallest boys at the moment, just not listening, everything I ask is always answered with a "NO" and fighting and saying a few choice words I would never in a million years say.  Don't get me wrong, Coop gets in on the action sometimes too, but he's always wanting to do the right thing and gets frustrated with the other two for doing wrong!  They are lucky he is calm and never says a bad word because he's a big boy compared to them.  Anyway, boys (or should I say kids) right, love them to pieces but they send you bonkers some days!!!!  This was meant to be short and sweet, so sorry, just having a moment!  Find me a Kleenex, it's all good!

Just a note that this layout was also created before any of the emotional stuff was brought up :)

Anyways, back to my layout.  I have used lots of gorgeous 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces here:

Valentine Branch
ATC Tiny Hearts
2014's
Film Strips - small
Love You
Winged Hearts
Valentine Theme Set

"Love You"

I covered the Winged Heart with some Gesso and then applied some
Shimmerz to the wings. I added a resin heart to the heart area and applied
Modelling Paste the edges to give it some texture.

This Love You loopy title would have to be one of my favourite pieces!  I have
covered the piece with the Shimmerz product Dimensionz in Pearly Gates (white).
It has given the title a puffy effect.
I then applied some Shimmerz mists to the word.  I layered the
Valentine Theme Set winged heart along with a ATC Tiny Heart on top of
each other with foam tape.  I also applied some Modelling Paste to the wings.

I have layered the small Film Strips under the photo with my flower cluster and cut
the second film strip and placed it at the top of the layout.  Using a dabber I applied
Gesso to these pieces.  Once all of my embellishments are in place I cover my photo
 and add sprays of Shimmerz.

Here I cut the heart and bow from the Valentine Branch and placed it on the end
of the arrow.   I applied Inklingz in Beets Me to the heart and bow.   I also added an

ATC Tiny Heart below the arrow flat on the page.  I blended this in with mists.

I placed the 2014 under the frame here and applied I Gesso.

I have used a Heidi Swapp stencil here for the word Hello!  I applied Modelling paste to it first and then added Shimmerz Inklingz products in Pugnacious Purple.

Love the purple for a change, not a colour I use alot of.

Just one more shot of all of those layers and gorgeous chippie products.

Okay, I think I am in need of some scrap therapy, it's been too long!!!
My apologies for the sooky la la moment, I nearly deleted it - but I'm only human right..........and I'm not alone!

Be back another day with more of my 2 Crafty creations :)

Big hugs and thankyou for taking the time to visit xo
